he danced!

- Have you seen Waltz With Bashir?
- Yeah.
- I hear it's heavy shit, man!
- Yeah.
[silence]
- Wanna talk about it?
- I don't know what to say, except that I am glad that Israel is a democracy, or this movie would not have been made. I cant' imagine any other government in the Middle East letting a movie with this point of view be made.
- What point of view?
- The point of view of an Israeli soldier who was close to the Sabra and Shatila massacre. The story of the movie is the guy trying to remember where exactly he was and what was he doing when the massacre happened. It's the point of view of someone who felt that he was fighting for the survival of Israel, and at the same time is scared because he can't remember anything, even though he believes he was in Beirut
at the time. Was he part of it? We know that the Lebanese Forces did it, but the Israeli were there, outside the refugee camps, while the Christian militia killed hundreds of civilians. It's heavy shit, man.
- Want a drink?
- I don't know.
