Generation 2000 against total chaos (part 152)

- Posição 2004: looking at the info. Next?
- Nicholas Martins. Bathroom door plates that he called Representações Sociais, which means Social Representations. Screen-printing on aluminium. 10 x 40 centimeters each. Signed (not a signature, just the name), titled and dated 2004 on the lower left side. Both plates say the same: MASCULINO(A). That means Masculine, but the (A) changes it to a neologism that would mean feminine, for lots of feminine words in Portuguese end with that letter. But the plates are different in
color: one is written in blue letters in a blue-edged box, with the (A) in white; the other is written in white letters in a pink-edged box, with the (A) in pink. That gives way to a lot of mind games I'm not exploring here, but like very much. Also, those were the actual bathrooms, in use during the exhibition. Good show!
